Abstract:
Davor (formerly Svinjar) is a village located 20 km southeast of Nova Gradiška, and today it administratively belongs to Brod-Posavina County. The local dialect of Davor is part of the Slavonian dialect, its Posavina sub-dialect. Although its more important linguistic facts are known about this local dialect in the dialectological bibliography, in this paper, after more extensive field research in recent times, the peculiarities of the local dialect of Davor on the phonological and morphological levels are highlighted and described. It is a local dialect that has a solid structure and that even today preserves certain more archaic features.
